I just published 'I Loved You Harder in the Rain' on Wattpad
I usually get my visual narratives or film ideas from my surroundings; this can be from anything possible (hearing a conversation, nature watching, reflecting on past conflicts, reminiscing...etc) however, most of my ideas have stemmed from listening to music. Sometimes, I'll write a film script based on my interpretation of a song. I'll turn that interpretation into a story/film idea.
I listen to songs on YouTube using the autoplay feature while working on creative projects because I find that this is a great way of discovering new, interesting and captivating songs made by unique artists.
I love oldies music. I've linked my favourite hour-long playlist by Nemo's Dreamscapes. There's a nostalgic feel to oldies music that I admire.
Anemoia (n): nostalgia for a time you've never experienced.
I've created a YouTube playlist for a few songs that I personally feel give me inspiring ideas for visual storytelling.
Listen to this ➡ Jerren Annah's Playlist.
Here's a snippet of a script example that I've typed up for Billie Eilish's song, 'All the good girls go to hell'. The script hasn't been typed out in a professional film script layout.
The storyline that I've created for this song is something that I would love the artist herself to see. It's my personal interpretation of the song at a deeper level of understanding.
